daily outfit: the “3 Weekend Staples" edition.
while my bank account does not afford to overspend on unnecessary weekend wear (i’m still reppin’ my favorite Nebraska sweatpants when i know i’ll be out of the public eye),
Santa delivered a few goodies that have become weekend staples.
yesterday, after whipping up some pancakes for the ladies
& struggling through a last chance workout,
i was prepping to run errands with Mama & the youngest,
when i, once again, opted for my new-to-me favorites (i highly recommend!):
Lululemon devotion long sleeve tee
Lululemon Wunderunders (long enough for a tall girl=instant love affair)
JCrew neon down vest

a little bit of neon & a little bit of lace on this hot, hot day. (Taken with Instagram)

two things i adore: pops of neon & Tieks.

after purchasing a pair last year w/ a source code from my girl Oprah,

i have loved each & every wear i get from those turquoise-bottomed beauties.

& now, Tieks has decided to join the thralls of neon-goers everywhere by creating their very own brightly colored foldable flats.

i think they’re quite adorable.

& i also think that i could probably pick out a few outfits to go right along with them!

this top is approximately $15 bucks from Target.
it’s supposed to be worn as a swim suit cover up (& you could very well wear it that way);
however, last week, i chose to wear it to yoga paired with leggings.
therefore, even if you don’t have a pool/beach nearby,
i’d suggest purchasing this neon-striped racerback anyway.
you’ll find a good reason to wear it, too!

daily outfit: the “jump jump" edition.
sometimes, when Mama J & i go shopping together,
i urge her to buy things that i feel i could also wear.
i think it’s one of my smartest moves in life.
case in point, this lovely blue Lafayette 148 jumper (is that what we’re still calling them?).
she wore it last week-
therefore, i thought it should finally be my time.
so it was.

i added a J.Crew neon green & white gingham button down,
navy Hue leggings,
my trusty gray, Frye boots,
& some curls to the new ‘do.

i liked it.
thanks, Mama!

what up hot pink blazer recently acquired on eBay!

i can’t wait to wear you with white skinnies

or with boyfriend style jeans & a tight v-neck tee

or just around the house with pajama pants because you’re linen-ness is sure to be oh, so lovely!

(& dear anonymous, not that it’s really any of your business, but this bad boy was purchased for a mere twenty bucks….let’s be friends again & forget that the events of yesterday even took place, okay?)

while out & about shopping for Mama’s birthday gifts,

i came across a pair of hot pink denim pants *cough Nordstrom Rack cough cough*.

as if the fashion geniuses had it all planned out,

the only size, style, & cut left hanging out so lonesomely on the rack seemed quite perfect for me.

& since i haven’t been able to locate my beloved neon pink blazer,

i’ve decided to take a short hiatus on that search & instead, focus all my neon-loving attention on the attempt to look half as fabulous as these lovely celebs.

& something tells me that naturally, i’ll be one step ahead of Katie Heigl January Jones who’s rockin’ the high-waisted look.

daily outfit: the “sleepy decisions" edition.

somehow, even in my sleepy state of mind this morning,

i managed to pull together a Wildfox couture coral-toned, spotted tee,

an LNA black layering tank,

Express cobalt blue denim jeans,

& grey herringbone with neon accent Toms.

surprisingly, i’m feeling pretty good about it all.

how bout that for a sassy start to this Tuesday?

inspiration to get my a** back in shape (both literally & figuratively): neon pink “cary cuff” shorts by Alice and Olivia.
so swoonworthy.

daily outfit: the “i could wear plaid (or stripes) every other day" edition.

while most people are sweating like crazy outdoors due to the 100+ degree temperatures,

i happen to be freezing cold indoors no matter the location (restaurants, movie theaters, grocery store, basically anywhere with air conditioning, etc.)

so, this is my compromise:

  • bright long sleeve neon pink plaid (by j.crew)
  • & classic-cut jeans (by seven).

capiche?

Hi! I'm Brooke. Indianapolis is my home & I welcome you to my little nook.
