daily outfit: the “graduation open house” edition.

this evening, i’ll be attending a high school graduation open house to celebrate the oldest of the three girls i nanny

(side note: i started nannying her when she was 12. how is this possible?).  

even if i won’t be there all night long,

the excuse that it’s June 1st & finally warm enough to go sleeveless seems reasonable enough to whip out this pretty little thing.

daily outfit: the “neon for days” edition.

neon + gingham = Monday happiness.

this weekend was lovely.

i was outside for more hours than i was in,

i have a nice little tan going on,

& neon is my everything.

simple enough?

daily outfit: the “head-shot day at work” edition.

i was flattered to be on the committee in charge of determining the employee dress code for our new & improved company-wide head-shots.

after much googling & fashion-advising, we settled on basic black & white- of course, this decision was made before i consulted my closet.

luckily, like the clothing-hoard that i’m [sometimes] ashamed to be, i discovered a black & white striped button-down, a black cardigan & my go-to pink lipstick (because we all know, i have to a lil’ pop of color- regardless of the dress code).

the attire isn’t necessarily fancy, but it’s classy… & who doesn’t love a classy head-shot?

daily outfit: the “black & red” edition.

i was watching Snooki & JWOWW last night when JWOWW declared, “my favorites colors are black & pink.”

& while i never really considered black to be one of my person faves, i realized that i do like the combo of black & [insert any bright hue here].

who knew i’d agree with a “Jersey girl” on something other than the love of a good time…well, & a love for pizza… & a love of beer… & a love for Italian men?

daily outfit: the “1st year at work complete, 1st time for tennis shoes at the office” edition.

last night, i was in bed by 10 p.m.

(i blame the 5:15 am wake up, the 5 miles done before work, the Brewmile “race” & the beer than soon followed).

regardless of reason, i got a solid 8 hours of sleep last night, woke up before this morning’s alarm, & thought, “those New Balances sure look comfy!”

so, here we are-

well-rested, dressed in black & neon, & proudly wearing tennie pumps to the office.

c’est la vie.

daily outfit: the “3 Weekend Staples” edition.

while my bank account does not afford to overspend on unnecessary weekend wear (i’m still reppin’ my favorite Nebraska sweatpants when i know i’ll be out of the public eye), 

Santa delivered a few goodies that have become weekend staples.

yesterday, after whipping up some pancakes for the ladies

& struggling through a last chance workout,

i was prepping to run errands with Mama & the youngest,

when i, once again, opted for my new-to-me favorites (i highly recommend!):

• Lululemon devotion long sleeve tee
• Lululemon Wunderunders (long enough for a tall girl=instant love affair)
• JCrew neon down vest

daily outfit: the “new driver’s license calls for neon” edition.

it’s only 10 a.m. & today has already been a day

(waking up to no heat can do that to a girl!).

the best remedy? neon.

over the noon hour, i’m making my way to the BMV for a Driver’s License re-take (aka new home address = outfit upgrade).

& while they no longer allow smiles to appear on Indiana mugshots licenses,

i hope they’ll do me a solid & choose to crop in some of my neon hues & perhaps a few strands of my curled-up hair day for good measure!

daily outfit: the “[casual] dress rehearsal dinner” edition.

had i brought another closet suitcase, i would have remembered to include a pair of hole-less jeans.

unfortunately, i didn’t.

so, while this wasn’t my top choice of an outfit,

the attention was obviously not on me,

it was on the bride & groom-to-be!
