daily outfit: the “Nordstrom Rack to the rescue" edition
i had a dress in mind for this weekend’s wedding festivities yet when i went to put it on, it no longer fit the bill.
i ran to Nordstrom Rack during lunch on Friday and $37 later, i found a dress for the event.
it was probably the most comfortable I had been at a wedding and i got to wear my beloved boots, so a win win, no doubt.

daily outfit: the “road trip to meetings in suburban Chicago" edition.

last week, i wore this get-up while pretending to be a backseat driver & also to afternoon meetings & a lactose-friendly two hour taste testing.

i felt real good about it— about everything involved with the events i participated in while wearing these pants.

i mean, floral pants can only be worn so many times, right?

i think i successfully hit my cost-per-wear goal so it can officially be fall now.

While I was on the west coast, I received an email from SEE Eyewear asking if I’d like to visit their new Indianapolis shop in exchange for a pair of free designer glasses (!!!).

Of course I was there within 48 hours of landing back in Indy!

Wednesday of last week, I stopped in their shop at the Fashion Mall, tried on 8 pairs of glasses and settled on a nice autumn hue.

By Saturday, they were ready to be snatched up, & my gosh, I’m in love.

Besides my blue & brown tortoise frames, I’ve always stuck to something more classic, but these army green stunners are going to make my fall.

Thanks for the opportunity, SEE! You are all fabulous.

Saturday night, i went to a birthday party that took place at the most beautiful barn in all the land.

prior to said party, it had been a solid 7 years since I attended any party near a barn, & i’m pretty sure riding around on a hayrack with kegs & handles of vodka does not actually compare.

so i digress.

i had no idea what to wear on Saturday night.

the weather was hit & miss showers, the humidity level was high & sweating like i’d just finished a work out was not an option.

enter: Vince.

a few weeks ago, when i was on the endless hunt for the perfect white jeans, i spotted this striped maxi beauty.

i knew i was in trouble when i slipped it on & the hem hit the floor— that never happens!

& it was perfect for Saturday night.

it was lightweight, allowed me to wear comfortable summer sandals & even picked up a few compliments along the way.

a great dress & a great date— you can’t go wrong with that.

daily outfit: the “last wear for LC" edition.

the first (& last) time i wore this dress, i was laid off.

today, i decided to give it one more go before parting ways.

i purchased it after spotting a few pretty celebrities wearing it out & about, & for the most part i like it, but not enough to overshadow the bad memories.

daily outfit: the “i’m not 21 anymore" edition.

i was out until 1 am last night and it became quite apparent at 6:25 this morning that i am no longer 21 years old.

however, in between popping headache meds & guzzling water, i somehow managed to pull together some pieces that i’m choosing to believe make me look very wide awake.

you can’t go wrong with a neon necklace & a good pair of wedges, right?

Hi! I'm Brooke. Indianapolis is my home & I welcome you to my little nook.
