Saturday night, i went to a birthday party that took place at the most beautiful barn in all the land.
prior to said party, it had been a solid 7 years since I attended any party near a barn, & i’m pretty sure riding around on a hayrack with kegs & handles of vodka does not actually compare.
so i digress.
i had no idea what to wear on Saturday night.
the weather was hit & miss showers, the humidity level was high & sweating like i’d just finished a work out was not an option.
a few weeks ago, when i was on the endless hunt for the perfect white jeans, i spotted this striped maxi beauty.
i knew i was in trouble when i slipped it on & the hem hit the floor— that never happens!
& it was perfect for Saturday night.
it was lightweight, allowed me to wear comfortable summer sandals & even picked up a few compliments along the way.
a great dress & a great date— you can’t go wrong with that.
daily outfit: the “last wear for LC" edition.
the first (& last) time i wore this dress, i was laid off.
today, i decided to give it one more go before parting ways.
i purchased it after spotting a few pretty celebrities wearing it out & about, & for the most part i like it, but not enough to overshadow the bad memories.
daily outfit: the “i’m not 21 anymore" edition.
i was out until 1 am last night and it became quite apparent at 6:25 this morning that i am no longer 21 years old.
however, in between popping headache meds & guzzling water, i somehow managed to pull together some pieces that i’m choosing to believe make me look very wide awake.
you can’t go wrong with a neon necklace & a good pair of wedges, right?
daily outfit: the “oh hey, fall!" edition.
85 yesterday, 57 today, why the heck not?
it was so hot and humid the few couple days, i’m honestly not too upset about the cooler weather. it feels refreshing, really.
i’m not sure when spring weather is actually going to arrive & stick around, but until that point, i’m fine with a little respite if it means leather boots & leggings all over again.
daily outfit: the “Mother’s Day" edition.
yesterday we celebrated Mama J.
we were up & at ‘em for the 8 o’clock church service.
we picked up coffee, we drove through the beautiful Meridian Hills, we read the Sunday news & soaked up a little Vitamin D while steaks grilled nearby.
six of us came together to eat a delicious meal & we raised our glasses to the woman of the house— the cheerleader who supports each & every endeavor.
every year that passes, the time spent celebrating my parents becomes more significant.
some personal events that took place over the last year showcased the love she has for me & i am well aware that one day of reciprocating that adoration will never be enough.
we love you, Mama. i hope you never doubt that. xx
daily outfit: the “sandals at work" edition.
with a high of 83 degrees today, i deem a sleeveless top & sandals totally necessary.
plus, i slept for nine & a half hour last night (much needed after three days of consecutive 7 am call times), so i’m definitely diggin’ this whole spring vibe.
daily outfit: the “these boots are supposed to be hibernating" edition.
i thought i’d seen the last of my favorite leather boots until i woke up to 30 degree temps.
just like that, they’re re-entered my life…along with a dress that may or may not be testing the boarding school skirt limits (it’s below my finger tips!).
hello, wednesday. i’m glad you’re here.
