daily outfit: the “it’s December!” edition.

bring on the sparkle & puffy vests & tartan plaid!

i realize i don’t wear hair bows as often as i used to (probably a good thing?), but i am a big fan of these hair baubles from Anthropologie.

they’re glitzy without looking like a show girl…now, that’s my kind of jam.

i never expected to geek out over coasters.

that was until last night.

i received a package in the mail, a late birthday/happy homeowner’s gift of sorts.

i opened the box, saw the Anthropologie gift wrap & knew it was going to be good.

& it was.

stunningly gorgeous good.

i’m not sure my picture fully captures the coaster perfection.

it’s all things i love about art- ceramic, glass, imperfections, conversation starters…

i could go on & on about how excited i am to add these to my kitchen table.

simply beautiful.

& if i geek out over coasters, i can’t even imagine what i’ll do when i get a washing machine!

if i could wear a dress every other day of the year,
i would definitely consider it.
and after i considered it,
i would strongly justify adding this gorgeous scallop-edged Anthropologie beauty to my collection of flowy frocks.
so, so pretty.
& perfect for those summer nights spent outdoors.

daily outfit: the “texture love" edition.
i’ve never been shy to mix bright colors &/or textures when it comes to an outfit.
yesterday’s work-wear was no exception to that behavior.
here’s how i mixed it:
Tall Brown Frye Leather boots
Chunky Knit over-the-knew Hue socks
Anthropologie fleece-lined leggings
Burgundy & Creme Juicy Couture check-out-those-shoulders Tunic (an impulse purchase justified by Jessica almost two years ago! Thank you for that encouragement!)
Michael Stars infinity gray thick scarf
Wispy ballerina-styled bun
Chanel tortoise framed glasses.
put it all together,
& you’ve got an outfit within my comfort zone.

daily outfit: the “a little bit Flashdance, a little bit comfort" edition

after a mid-morning walk-a-thon,

some window shopping at Form & Function,

& a quick stop at Mackey’s for a dollar fountain diet coke,

it’s time for catching up on the dvr, eating homemade chicken dumpling soup & anticipating girls weekend with mama j.

  • Splendid striped crop-top
  • Old Navy tank
  • Anthropologie fleece lined leggings
  • Tasha headwrap

i remember my first pair of fleece-lined leggings…total fall fashion game-changer.

i first spotted them, about a year ago, on miss emily & miss casey's respective blogs/twitter feeds.

i was in kansas, turning into a legit ice-cube just thinking about my frigid walk across campus in the what’s colder than cold? ice cold early mornings & late school nights.

do yourself a well-deserved favor (before they sell-out),

order them immediately from Anthropologie  (in black & grey) for $18 a pair,

because if you’re anything like yours truly,

you’ll easily reach your price per wear justification by the time the calendar hits mid-November!

they’re perfect with boots & over-sized comfy sweaters, to wear while cuddling on the couch w/ a special someone, while layering up for sledding, for lounging with a cuppa chai on the porch while watching the leaves fall, &/or just for the heck of it…

you can thank me later, hot stuff.

daily outfit: the “what i wore to dress rehearsal & a ping-pong club" edition.

on Friday night in Milwaukee, it was 90 degrees, sunny, & all-around humid.

we started with a quick run-through outdoor rehearsal at Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin,

taxied it over to dinner, drinks & perhaps a little impromptu dancing courtesy of the latter at Water Buffalo,

then walked a couple blocks to Spin… a seriously cool ping-pong club started by Susan Sarandon in NYC.

it was a fun & highly entertaining night (thanks to the groomsmen!),

& this little outfit worked out quite nicely.

  • turquoise earrings from anthropologie
  • DVF front bow-tied dress
  • Jimmy Choo shoes
  • LV make-up bag/i use it as a clutch

Hi! I'm Brooke. Indianapolis is my home & I welcome you to my little nook. I'm a twenty-something girl who was born in the land of corn (Okl.), attended undergrad in the true Sea of Red (Neb.), & eventually found her way back home again after picking up a couple letters behind her name (Kan.) while clinging to an adorable Maltipoo named Bentley.
