lately in baking adventures…

two cookouts & two excuses to fill my kitchen with the scent of sugar.

Tollhouse Break & Bake Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies // bake for 10 minutes & they stay oh, so soft!


Magnolia Bakery “Hello Dolly Bars" // mix everything together (graham crackers, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, butter, pecans) & throw it into a pan to bake. they’re so simple yet so amazingly delicious.

tonight i’m going to a cook-out & volunteered to bring dessert.

i whipped out my Magnolia Bakery cookbook & decided on the Hello Dolly bars.

graham crackers, butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, coconut, butter…

i mean, really, it was a no-brainer.

this recipe is super easy to follow (you basically throw everything into a bowl, mix, & bake), & the end result is deliciously divine.

the thing about staying with three girls young ladies between the ages of 12 & 17 is that baking becomes an essential to my low-key sanity.

they request delicious baked goods from the likes of Magnolia Bakery’s cookbook on Thursday nights…


& they request Flapjacks from Williams Sonoma on Sunday mornings.


trust me, i’m not complaining (you see that Wolf oven, right?),

all the baking acts as a true test of my willpower-

& even more reason why the youngest tells me, besides the usual “you’re Khloe because of her attitude & Kourtney because of her looks,” that I’m their favorite babysitter.

stepping foot into, what felt like, each & every store up & down fifth avenue,

day-dreaming about what life could be in the great city

& recovering from a slight heat stroke

b.r. and mama j will be in town tonight for a weekend visit. 

i’m using their visit as my motivation to get into the fall mood.

so i opted for baking an autumn-esque recipe…
