daily outfit: the “May 8th-still dressing like fall" edition.

today’s high in Indy is 70-some degrees & while I should dress to match the weather,

i will be indoors all day & therefore find comfort in lightweight layers & boots, always boots.

any excuse to wear sale boots purchased after the winter season, right?

daily outfit: the “on snowy days i still wear cute boots" edition.
last night, there was a snow storm in indy.
& while i would have loved to follow that up with an official snow day,
i rather enjoyed the gorgeous commute filled with somewhat patient drivers, the beautiful snow-covered trees, a justifiable stop at Bucky’s & the rather lame excuse to dress up a bit (it had been too long since i wore colored denim).
Banana Republic sweater
JCrew button-down
Express denim
Frye boots

daily outfit: the “mullet shirt" edition.

as i sat down at work,

i quickly realized that people who would be seeing me from the front-side would think i was wearing red denim & a chambray button-down;

however,

if i would get up & walk on by,

those same onlookers would see that my top was way more than just a chambray button-down.

thus, a mullet shirt was conceived-

business in the front, party in the back.

you’re welcome, Free People

you’re welcome.

today was/is for:

  • an early morning cardio session while watching the Nanny & Family Matters on Nickelodeon
  • related: i forgot how emotional some of the story lines were on Family Matters. this morning, as i was pounding away at the elliptical, i was tearing up as Eddie yelled at Carl Winslow for not believing that he had been assaulted in public. perhaps when TGIF used to be a thing, i was just too young to comprehend society.
  • day 2 of bringing peanut butter cheerios to the office for breakfast.
  • wearing red pants (Express) rather than opting for classic denim skinnies.
  • a side braid that breeds sass
  • an owl ring purchased for a couple dollars at Forever 21
  • layering (Love Quotes scarf, Primp thermal)- temp @ 6 a.m= 33 degrees. projected temp @ 5 p.m. 68 degrees
  • dinner plans with a favorite.
  • a decent attitude about life
  • headphones on, music on- work will be gettin’ done.

daily outfit: the “sleepy decisions" edition.

somehow, even in my sleepy state of mind this morning,

i managed to pull together a Wildfox couture coral-toned, spotted tee,

an LNA black layering tank,

Express cobalt blue denim jeans,

& grey herringbone with neon accent Toms.

surprisingly, i’m feeling pretty good about it all.

how bout that for a sassy start to this Tuesday?

daily outfit: the “these pants turned my legs blue, but the outfit was so worth it" edition.
yesterday, i wore this get-up for about twelve hours.
when i disrobed at the end of the day, my legs were blue.
but in the midst of the madness,

i drank coffee,
i ate chocolate chip waffles,
i went into work,
i stalked Austin Collie because i had the opportunity to do so,
i ran into a BFF’s mother,
i giggled about life & all its random happenings,
& most importantly, i was oh, so comfortable with my selection.

Yarnz blue leopard scarf (thank you, Gilt)
Splendid black tunic
Express cobalt blue denim
Frye boots

Hi! I'm Brooke. Indianapolis is my home & I welcome you to my little nook. I'm a twenty-something girl who was born in the land of corn (Okl.), attended undergrad in the true Sea of Red (Neb.), & eventually found her way back home again after picking up a couple letters behind her name (Kan.) while clinging to an adorable Maltipoo named Bentley.
